A Fright at the Theatre

Christ College and The Woman in Black

Christ College Drama students enjoyed a visit to Cheltenham’s Everyman Theatre to see The Woman in Black.

Enjoying a well-deserved reputation as a genuine spine-chiller, it is the story of a solicitor summoned to a remote house on the English East Coast to settle the affairs of a recently deceased woman, whose lonely task becomes ever more fraught as he experiences noises, inexplicable events and the apparition of the Woman in Black.

Drama Co-ordinator Rosalia Robinson said: “It was an amazing experience. The students were able to see the how lighting and sound effects helped the actors build up the tension in what is a very atmospheric –not to say scary –piece of theatre!”

The play has  been running at London’s Fortune Theatre since 1989 in addition to the current national tour.
