Gideons visit Christ College

 

 Christ College welcomed Mr. Tony Swinson and Mr. Derek Coldrick from the Gideons to their Year 7 assembly.

 

Mr. Swinson told the students something of their work before presenting a copy of the New Testament and Psalms to all who wanted one.

 

The Gideons are dedicated to distributing copies of the Bible throughout the world, and are well known for doing so to hotel rooms, but also to many other institutions, including schools.

 

Mr. Swinson pointed out the New Testament is the foundation document of the Christian faith, and their edition features a helpful index  with which readers can locate particularly apt and supportive passages in times of need.

 

Mr. Swinson said: “We’ve been made very welcome. The students were very attentive and showed a great deal of interest during the assembly.”
