They’re Such Good Sports at Gloucester Road School—Thanks to Christ College!

There was excitement amongst year 3 pupils at Gloucester Road School when Christ College paid a visit to present them with some sports equipment.

The Sports Council is made up of six year-10 pupils who help shape the direction of sports at the College, and they decided it would a be a good idea to use Sainsbury's Active Kids vouchers their school had collected to enhance the facilities that the Gloucester Road PE store has to offer.

Three of the council, Gareth Shand, Jimmy Davies and Lauren Regan, visited the school to deliver the equipment, which included footballs, rounders gear and even ice-free curling stones!

Lauren said of the visit: ”It was a delightful experience seeing the reaction on the children’s faces.”

Gloucester Road Teacher Sharon Davies said: “We’re very grateful to Christ College for donating this equipment. The children think it is brilliant, and it will make a big difference to PE lessons.”

Daniel Derrick, the School Sport Co-ordinator at Christ College said: “The idea is to help increase participation in PE and extra curricular sport. We hope the children at Gloucester Road enjoy the equipment and have great fun using it.”
