From Hyderabad to Cheltenham: Christ College Welcomes Indian Visitors.

Christ College were delighted to welcome Mrs. Sudhamani Dhulpudi, Mr. Niranjan Singh, Mr. Rama Rao, Mr. Bobbili Muthaiah and Mr. Vijaya Bhasker, visitors from two schools in Hyderabad, India.

The event was the second part of an exchange visit, as Christ College Head Teacher Teresa Gilpin and Director of Sport Niall Ferguson travelled to India earlier in the year.

During the week, the visitors toured the school extensively, sitting in on lessons, inspecting the facilities and gaining an insight into the similarities and differences between their own schools and Christ College.

The exchange visits were sponsored by the British Council Youth Sports Trust, and are part of a three year programme of links with Christ College, Winchcombe School and the Indian partner schools.

Mrs Gilpin said: “It has been great to offer a welcome to our link schools, who were so hospitable to us during our visit, and we are all excited at the opportunities that this represents in terms of sharing ideas and culturally extending the students horizons.”

It is hoped that a group of Cheltenham students will go over to India to develop leadership programmes in the partner schools, which would be followed by a reciprocal visit by their students.
