‘Defining Moment’ as Christ College celebrates first Anglican Eucharist

Pupils at Christ College took part as the school celebrated its first Anglican Eucharist since the school became a joint Anglican / Catholic faith school.

The service was conducted by the Revd Malcolm Allen, Vicar of St. Barnabas Church, who said it was “a wonderful experience sharing the service with the Year 8 children at Christ College.”

Head of RE Theresa Scarfe said “This is a defining moment in the history of Christ College.  As a joint faith school, both the Catholic and Anglican Eucharist are taught in Year 8 RE.  In helping students understand this Christian journey, it is important that both traditions are celebrated and experienced. “

Also in attendance was Ben Lillie, Team Youth Minister for the local Anglican Parish.
