Christ College Stars Bring Bugsy Malone to the Stage!

Many weeks of rehearsals came to fruition as students from Christ College took their production of Bugsy Malone to the Playhouse Theatre.

Pupils from years 7 to 11 took part in the childlike take on Prohibition era Chicago, where custard firing splurge guns are the weapons of choice for sarsaparilla drinking gangsters.

The College invited children from five local primary schools to view a special performance in advance of the main showings on the 14th and 15th of February.

Drama teacher Rosalia Robinson, who directed the production, said: “It was very exciting for the children to perform in a real theatre, and they all excelled themselves.”

“The audience reaction has been fantastic, so all the hard work has been worth it.”
