Christ College pair return from Paris Rugby Trip triumph.

Two year-ten pupils from Christ College made a triumphant return from their visit to the Rugby World Cup held in Paris.

Greg Gannon and Alice O’Riordan went as part of Parlez-Vous Rugby, a project which links schools in the UK, France and Ireland in developing leadership skills through the sport.

Accompanying Greg and Alice was PE teacher Dean Ackland.

“I was proud to see Greg and Alice grow in confidence throughout the week,” he said.

“They took leading roles in organising the festival for over 200 French primary school children. It was a great success.”

Greg said that organising the tournament was the highlight of the week.

“I also enjoyed visiting the British Embassy – and watching England beat Australia!”

Alice described the Parlez-Vous Rugby experience as “an amazing opportunity to meet new people from France and the UK” and hopes to get the chance to take part again in the future.
