Celebrity Chefs Cook up a Storm at Christ College!
Christ
College pupils had a lunch time with a difference when they were visited by
the doyen of dinner ladies, Jeanette Orrey, and Cotswold Celebrity Chef Rob
Rees.
Jeanette has been a pioneering influence in the campaign to encourage healthy eating in schools, and has written two books on the subject.
Rob Rees MBE is also passionate about food, nutrition and health, and both he and Jeanette dropped in to lend their support to Christ College, whose own dedicated staff shares their commitment in providing nutritious and enjoyable meals to school pupils.
A
highlight of the day was the unveiling of a new style one-stop sandwich bar,
where pupils can choose from a range of ingredients for a healthy, custom
made sandwich.
Jeanette also found time to circulate
amongst the students to talk to them about food and nutrition. Jeanette
enjoyed working with Christ College, and said together they had improved the
pupils understanding of the benefits of healthier eating.
