Harvest Festival a first for Christ College

Christ College played host to primary pupils from Holy Trinity, St. Thomas More’s and St. Gregory’s schools as it celebrated its first Harvest Festival.

All of the schools contributed to the proceedings, through music, prayer and sign language.

Father Mark Moran from St. Thomas More Catholic Church spoke in his address of “the need to recognise our neighbour, whether it is someone next door, or on the other side of the world.”

Amongst the guests was the Revd. Jacqueline Rodwell, curate of the Anglican West Cheltenham Team, who said she was “Delighted to be taking part in the Harvest  Festival, and seeing the children worshipping together.”

Head of RE at Christ College Theresa Scarfe said:

“The service has been a great success, forging lasting links between Catholic and Anglican Faith schools, and strengthening the spirituality within Christ College.”

Also in attendance was the Revd. Malcolm Allen, Christ College Anglican Chaplain Hannah Cooke, Chairman of the Board of Governors John Kyffin, Catholic Chaplain Steve Wood, and Deborah Legge, Secondary Advisor to the Diocese of Gloucester.
